The National Pharmacy Association has been working with ITV’s News and Current Affairs series “Tonight”. They are making a programme about the issues currently facing pharmacy in the UK such as drug shortages and funding. The programme will be broadcast on 11th January at 8.30pm on ITV1.
The producers are aware that pharmacies see more people each day than A&E and GPs put together. They also understand that community pharmacies are closing down in England at an unprecedented rate whilst the demand for them to do more to take pressure off a stretched NHS increases. The programme will be asking what does the future hold for these cornerstones of the community.
Whilst the programme will reflect a wide section of viewpoints from across the healthcare sector including patients and experts from around the country, it is obviously vital it reflects the views of as many pharmacists as possible.
