The EPS system is not operational at the Downland Practice. The reason for the is that the practice is a dispensing practice (has a pharmacy) and this is over two locations. EPS does not have the capacity to operate over two locations. At present if the practice started to use EPS then the dispensary at Compton would then become part of Chieveley and the Compton dispensary would have to close. The Downland Practice is currently looking in to the possibility of an EPS system the would operate over the two sites, unclear if this is possible, to date this has not been an option. Either way we need to keep the Compton dispensary open so that patients who use this facility do not loose out.
