During this pandemic the Downland Practice and Downland Pharmacy have been keeping staff and patients safe from potential COVID-19 infection by controlling the number of patients who attend the surgery. Patients should always phone the practice where possible to reduce foot fall. Patients arriving at the practice reception who do not have a booked appointment may be informed to go home and phone in their request. The Downland Practice want to keep their doors open, we will only be able to do this if patients use the telephone where possible.
The Downland Pharmacy is operating a one in one out system, this has been risk assessed as the safest way to keep both patients and staff safe. This system creates a queuing system outside the pharmacy, patients who are setting off to the pharmacy to collect their medications should wear appropriate clothing for the conditions. We have seen some patients recently wearing only shirts/light tops and no coat in the winter months when it is raining, we do not advise wearing only shirts/light tops and no coat in the winter months when it is raining as you will get wet and cold.
